Aegerter has a good pace in Sachsenring, Mulhauser crashes

10.07.2015

Between eleven riders in less than three tenths of a second, three are from Switzerland - Dominique Aegerter, Technomag Racing Interwetten, the winner here last year and fourth overall today; Randy Krummenacher in ninth and Thomas Lüthi, Derendinger Racing Interwetten, in tenth - the first day of free practice for the German GP, on the spectacular circuit of Sachsenring, started off well for the Swiss. A good beginning ahead of the race on Sunday that is the last race before a short summer break. The day unfortunately ended prematurely for Robin Mulhauser (Technomag Racing Interwetten), who had a spectacular crash, luckily with no physical consequences. Fred Corminboeuf, the boss of CGBM Evolution, the company owning the two Swiss teams, summarised this Friday, very strange day weather wise, with sun, wind and fresh air that we were not used to: "It is nice to be back in Sachsenring where we have incredible memories from last year when Dominique won the race. It is even nicer to see that Domi is on the pace again, he is fast and he is smooth. With such small gaps I have a feeling that some incredible things might happen on Sunday in the race. Sachsenring is not Tom's favourite circuit, he is more than 3 tenths off the pole, he is working for the race and I entirely believe in him. When it comes to Robin, unfortunately he crashed again in a moment where he seemed to be improving. He came in for new tires and he had the potential to jump up in the classification. Luckily he is not hurt and I hope that on Saturday and Sunday he will be making a progress again."

Dominique Aegerter (Technomag Racing Interwetten, 4th): "The start of my 2015 season was a lot worse than last year. This year I did not come to Germany with the same results like last year but I found good feelings immediately. This morning in the first free practice as well as this afternoon I managed not only to be fast but also to collect some valuable laps. Two months ago I had a perfect weekend here with a pole position and a race victory. Of course I hope for the same result this time. But attention, there is still a lot of work to be done: on Saturday everyone will be even faster and I definitely need to beat the 1'25 to be on one of the first two rows."

Robin Mulhauser (Technomag Racing Interwetten, 27th): "The damage on the bike is more spectacular than serious because my tank was damaged; myself I am ok. It was really silly. This morning in the first free practice I was 2 seconds quicker than last year and this afternoon I was going to use new tires, having started the session trying a few things, especially with the gearbox, the final gear rate. I made a mistake in my first full lap and I crashed in the second. I am not happy to have lost all this time because I think that we can do a good job here this weekend."
